The results of a study about the effect of gravity on a silicon sphere are reported. The study has been carried out in the framework of the realization of the new definition of kilogram. A finite element model of the silicon sphere has been implemented to analyze the elastic deformation due to gravity in order to evaluate its contribution to uncertainty in volume determination.

Abstract
