A geometric integration technique based on Cayley transform is applied to the time discretization of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The numerical efficiency is studied, focusing on the influence of damping coefficient and mesh size on the maximum time step that guarantees stability and preservation of the Lyapunov structure of the micromagnetic equation.

Abstract
