In the framework of a European Space Agency Study on “Uncertainty budgets for magnetic dipole models” (Contract Number 4000106904/12/NL/GLC), methods and tools were developed for the uncertainty evaluation of equivalent magnetic dipole models, used in missions with stringent magnetic cleanliness requirements. The main sources of experimental uncertainty were detected and quantified, a procedure for combining them, in order to obtain the uncertainty of the model parameters, was elaborated, and a relevant software was developed.

Abstract
