A calibration system, based on an automatic voltage divider and a high-level digital multimeter (DMM) characterised in linearity, has been developed at I.N.RI.M (Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, Italy) for the dc voltage calibration of generators. This paper describes the voltage divider and presents the results of its preliminary characterisation.
